Threat Modeling has always been more of an art than a science, because you can’t have a science without data, and data about how companies threat model is hard to come by. Hopefully that is about to change, with the release of the first ever threat modeling survey!
Take the State of Threat Modeling Survey!
The survey is a Threat Modeling Connect Community effort (between myself and @rewtd), but will only be a success if we all contribute, not just by taking the survey, but by sharing the survey in any way we can to anyone who is involved in threat modeling. Promoting this LinkedIn announcement is an easy way to help.
The survey will be available to take for several weeks to give us the maximum chance to gather as much data as possible. The goal is to take the data gathered and produce a report that we will share with this community (and everyone really), which will serve as a guide to trends, benchmarks, challenges, and best practices in threat modeling.
This is your absolute best chance to get an understanding of how the world threat models, so please spread the word!
