The First TMC SG Meetup! 🇸🇬

[Launch of Threat Modeling Community in Singapore]

Threat Modeling Connect’s Singapore Chapter (TMC SG) is now live, as a partnership with Division Zero (Div0)'s Threat Modeling Quarter (TMQ).

As shared during the launch, this idea kickstarted with Takaharu Ogasa’s suggestion during the Global Cybersecurity Camp earlier this year in Taiwan to expand the community of threat modeling practitioners.

Yoon Yik Ng 吴咏益 gamely came onboard with the idea to set up the second TMC chapter in Asia, providing a platform for anyone within the cybersecurity space who performs threat modeling to come together to share best practices and build a community of practice within Singapore.

This could not have been possible without the support of people working behind the scenes such as Emil Tan and Xue Ming (Anna) Teoh from Div0, Shuning Hsu from TMC, fellow chapter leads and supporters such as Takaharu-San, Paul Spruce (who we had a synchronous catch-up with through TMC JP!), as well as friends who have shown up to show their support!

Often, zero to one is the hardest activities to do when building up something new. But now that we have launched, we kick-start a new chapter.

As mentioned during the launch, we are always looking for like-minded people to reach out to us if they have good ideas, or that they wish to do more within threat modeling. Please feel free to reach out to YY or myself should you want to be part of this movement.

Congratulations @donavancheah @Hungr_yy for bringing TMC to Singapore! Curious - what kind of topics were covered? Do you get a lot of first-time threat modelers (or the other way around?) Any input on what topics people want to hear next?

And well done to all of you! @donavancheah @Hungr_yy @TakaharuOgasa @PaulSpruce! Love the synergy you’re building across chapters  Keep it coming!
